UK Press Releases This is a double celebration , as Peter, Gareth and Richard have also become chartered members of the CIOB (MCIOB) based on their NVQ qualifications. Together they have over 46 years experience working for McDonald's and have managed hundreds of projects, including 300 new restaurant openings and countless refurbishments. The qualification is the first of its kind in the world and is designed for construction personnel who engage in Construction Project Management. Managers are required to provide satisfactory evidence of their management skills, technical knowledge, and competence in managing construction projects, measured against an industry-agreed set of standards. The award was obtained through the CASL Management Training NVQ centre with the Joint Awarding Body of Edexcel, CIOB and the Institution of Civil Engineers. CASL Management Training is the first centre to be approved to offer this qualification. The CIOB is a leading professional body for managers in construction and for almost 170 years has lead the way in establishing, promoting and maintaining standards of excellence in the Construction Industry.” Peter Richards, McDonalds Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer concluded: Peter Wall joined McDonald's in 1990 as a Trainee Project Manager. In 1999 he was promoted to Regional Construction Manager. Peter leads a regional team of Project Managers, Consultants and Contractors and is responsible for all new restaurant development and refurbishment in East Anglia, the Midlands, Wales and the West Country. Gareth Jones joined McDonald's in 1982 and is a Senior Project Manager, with over a 100 new restaurant openings under his belt. Gareth is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and now also a Chartered Builder. Richard England has been with McDonald's for 10 Years and started at Head Office in London as a Project Manager. He was promoted to senior Project Manager in 1997 and is now based in Sutton Coldfield. |
